Beautiful Skin Starts From Inside Out | Skincare Tips

Skincare 101: Skin Health From The Inside to The Outside (Part 1)

We all aim to have gorgeous skin! We've previously done a blog that mentions some habits that can help you attain beautiful skin, but we'd like to go more in-depth as to how YOU can truly maintain your skin's health starting from the inside out!

It's An Inside Job

Diet

Having a healthy, balanced diet is not only good for your bodily functions, but it also helps your skin! By eating the right amount of raw foods, you're helping your body function properly.

For healthy skin, you should aim for foods that are high in omega 3 fatty acids. This includes fish, chia seeds, walnuts, flax seeds, and sardines. Another category to include is collagen or eat foods that stimulate collagen production. These foods include strawberries, citrus fruits, broccoli, and kale.

Finally, foods that are rich in vitamin A and antioxidants, such as blueberries, Swiss chard, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes, should also be part of a diet for better skin.

Supplements

Vitamin C is essential for healthy skin, hair, and nails. You will find vitamin C naturally in citrus fruits, and it is also available in supplement form. Vitamin C has also been found to retain collagen, which gives skin a smooth and plump appearance.

Taking Zinc can aid in reducing oil production of the skin, which can reduce issues related to acne. Zinc is known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which also helps the body to function how it is supposed to in order to avoid skin issues.

Probiotics are another important supplement to add to your daily habits, since many of us often consume foods that are inflammatory to our system and cause our gut flora to be unbalanced. Similar to the anti-inflammatory benefits of Zinc, probiotics help to rebalance the gut (which reduces inflammation) as well as help our skin barrier retain moisture.

Water Intake

While there are many things you can take and add to your skin to make it look its best, a super practical solution for gorgeous skin is making sure to drink enough water. Water helps to deliver vital nutrients, minerals, and other essential items to cells on the surface of the skin. This, in turn, helps skin cells to thrive! Water also assists in detoxing your body from anything you might have ingested or absorbed. Aim to consume at least eight glasses of water a day!

We hope these tips will help YOU attain beautiful skin. Of course, always seek the advice of your healthcare provider if you are experiencing persistent skin issues!

Oh yes, I’ve noticed that diet is everything when it comes to skin!! I’ve been doing my best lately to eat healthy & I definitely notice a difference in my skin compared to when I eat junk food/fast food. I need to include more probiotics in my diet for sure. I had no idea it had an affect on skin as well!
